Since 2006, Midwest Low Vision has been a trusted name for low vision products and services in Bloomington, Indiana. Our optometrist, Dr. Jarrod Long, has been in practice since 1997. He and our team are committed to helping you overcome the limitations your low vision problems have caused in your life.

We work with individuals, caregivers, and loved ones to make sure we provide thorough services for each patient. It is our goal to provide each patient with the care and compassion they deserve, so they can enjoy their favorite life activities.

Payment Information

We accept cash, personal check and all major credit cards. In addition, we offer no-interest and low-interest financing.

What are the Costs Involved?

The Low Vision Evaluation takes approximately one hour and our fee is $295. Unfortunately, it is not covered by Medicare or private insurance. Because we reserve at least an hour in our busy schedule, a no-show/cancel fee of $150 will be charged without 48 hours notice. Low Vision glasses vary in costs depending upon the following factors:

1Type of lens system: Telescopic, Microscope, Prismatic, E-Scoop

2Monocular or Binocular: Some systems must be monocular (one eye); some binocular and some may be either.

3The level of magnification required

4The eyeglass prescription of the patient

5The frame used for the system

6The number of items on the wish list

Low vision devices are considered to be “task specific.” The glasses are designed to complete the task desired. From time to time it is possible to design a pair of glasses for multiple tasks. Often this is not possible.
